Calling all aspiring actors and actresses! If you have a flair for the dramatic (has an adult ever told you, “Oh, don’t be so dramatic!”?) or just enjoy reading and acting out stories, then this class is for you. Reader’s Theater will provide students with a fun outlet for creative expression and a safe platform for building reading confidence. Reader’s Theater is a well-known fluency building strategy that engages and entertains students while they learn and improve their fluency, comprehension, and inferential thinking. Students will be challenged at their own reading level as we have a variety of stories and fun parts to choose from. We will be acting out a new story every day in this lively, hands-on class!
Prerequisites for Reader’s Theater 180: Students need to be able to read at or above grade level, be comfortable with taking risks, and work well with others.
