This class has been specifically designed for the student who enjoys being creative and welcomes the challenge of figuring out rules and strategies for board games. During this course, you will design a board game based on one of the novels listed below:

The Bad Beginning: Book the First (A Series of Unfortunate Events) by Lemony Snicket, Honus and Me by Dan Gutman, Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech, Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett, 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass, Project Mulberry by Linda Sue Park, and Matilda by Roald Dahl

Prerequisites for Novel Based Board Games 340: Students must read a minimum of three novels listed above prior to the first day of class. Students will then have the opportunity to choose which novel to base your board game on. It is necessary to have an open mind and willingness to collaborate and work with others to successfully create a novel based board game in one week’s time.
